Welcome!
Greetings to Student, Diversity Recruitment Consortium, Guest Organization, and National Park Service Participants!

This letter is to confirm your participation in the Fifth Annual National Park Service Recruitment Event organized by the National Park Service and facilitated in partnership with the Diversity Recruitment Consortium for the National Park Service (DRC). This year’s event will take place in the Northeast Region at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Participation in this event will assist the National Park Service (NPS) to improve the efficiency of recruiting and further extend its connections to historically diverse-serving institutions of higher learning and to organizations dedicated to supporting students interested in environmental careers. We hope that it will result in the participating students working for the NPS next summer in a seasonal or temporary position, and in the future in a permanent capacity.

We are pleased to have Palo Verde College as our financial partner for this year’s NPS Recruitment event. The Diversity Recruitment Consortium (DRC) and the Recruitment Futures Implementation Team (RFIT) have planned a very exciting and interesting recruitment event.

It is our hope that after your time at Acadia National Park, you will have an in-depth appreciation of what it is that students can do to apply for and be selected to work in NPS positions. We think that you will enjoy your time in one of the most popular vacation destinations in the United States, while you meet NPS employees and learn from them firsthand what it is like to live and work in a national park.
